System Office of Risk Services

The Intelex System

Mission

Provide a sustainable framework for managing, recording and responding to environmental, health and safety (EHS) regulatory compliance activities.

Vision

Implement a comprehensive EHS compliance management system using a centralized database.   Take a systematic approach of identifying high risk operations or units on a campus, performing safety and compliance reviews or audits for those locations.   Following the Compliance Assistance and Assurance Program (CAAP) model as required in UA Regulations: R05 09 040 A. b and g., identifying regulatory programs and/or training requirements, and recording and managing those results.   Various ancillary methods employed by MAU EHS professionals may be used to generate this data for entry into the Intelex database.

Supervisors and Principle Investigators fulfill an essential role in the process and will need clear direction and support from their leadership.

Resources and training are provided to the supervisors and other designated individuals in the affected units on how to enter data, interact within the appropriate Intelex modules, and responding to issues of noncompliance with the support and guidance of MAU EHS professionals.

The University has chosen the following modules to implement initially and will expand to other modules as MAU needs are identified and programs develop and mature:

                   ·          Audit

                   ·          Document Control

                   ·          Nonconformance & Corrective Actions

                   ·          Training & Awareness

                   ·          Standard Safety Incident (Used for OSHA Reporting)
