Lael Oldmixon joined the Office of Finance and Administration in 2013 as the Executive Director of the University of Alaska Scholars Program and the College Savings Plan. Oldmixon is responsible for providing planning, direction, administration, and fiduciary oversight of both programs.
Previously, Oldmixon held positions in the department of resident life and office of admissions and the registrar for the University of Alaska Fairbanks. In 2007 Oldmixon accepted the position of Associate Director of Admissions with responsibility for the operational functions in the department. Her last position was the Director of Admissions Recruitment, a position which she held for 5 years prior to accepting the Executive Director position in February 2013.
Oldmixon serves on the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce Education Committee, the Alaska Postsecondary Access and Credential Network Steering Team, and on the boards of two non-profit agencies, the Fairbanks Children’s Museum and Spirit of Youth. She is a member of the Chamber’s 2015 Leadership Fairbanks Cohort. Previously, she co-chaired the University’s workplace United Way campaign.
Oldmixon holds a B.A. in American Studies from Saint Michael’s College and an M.Ed from the University of Vermont.
