Overview

This service includes university webmail and IMAP/POP3 email access for desktop clients as well as handheld devices. Other applications accessible through the Google Apps interface include: calendaring, docs, chat, video, groups and sites.

Service Users

UAF and SW faculty, staff and students.

Requirements

Must have a valid "@alaska.edu" account. Affiliated guests who do not exist in the university database system must be sponsored by an affiliated faculty or staff and have a guest account created.

Rates

Google Apps @ UA is available at no cost to end users.

Get Started

All incoming UAF students are automatically given an "@alaska.edu" email account once they are actively enrolled in at least one UAF course, usually at the beginning of an academic semester. New UAF or UA Statewide faculty and staff are also given an account when they begin employment. Students, faculty, and staff can activate and reset their password for Google Apps @ UA email accounts by going to the Easy Login Maintenance Option

Availability

Service is available 24 hours per day. Exceptions include: scheduled maintenance and unplanned outages.
