In September 2005, the University engaged in a contract with ACS for cellular telephone service. The ACS contact for this service is: To report service problems, please call 611 (instate) or 866-550-4999 (out of state). Per the new contract, the following applies to all phones on any rate plan: - Phone purchases are priced at ACS Wireless "no contract retail price," less 20% or the 12 month service agreement rate, whichever is less.
- Accessories are invoiced at 20% off retail price
- No additional contracts are allowed
- Monthly Servce Plan Charge (does not apply to the Local Per Minute Plan)
- Regulatory compliance fee (applied per phone to recover wireless local number portability and E911 costs - Monthly $1.25
- Alaska Universal Service Fund Charge (applied per phone number): Monthly $0.70.
- Federal Universal Service Fund Charge (applied on basic service and airtime usage): Monthly 3.16% (this rate is adjusted quarterly)
- Emergency 911 (applied per phone number, not to exceed more than 100 E911 charges per account/month). Inside Anchorage Municipality Monthly: $0.50, Outside Anchorage Municipality Monthly: $0.75.
