Downloading, Installing and Configuring the Palm Conduit for Meeting Maker

Download Palm Conduit

  1. Download the zipped Palm Conduit for Meeting Maker 8.6 installation file.

  2. Extract the zipped folder by opening the zip file. The folder can be extracted to the desktop or th default location is fine.

Installing Palm Conduit

  1. Open the extracted folder and double click the Setup.exe file to run the installer.

  2. The installer will open with the message, “Welcome to the Installshield Wizard for Meeting Maker.” Click on the Next Button.

  3. You can choose the Conduits you wish to install; typically only the "Date Book Conduit" is required.

    • Uncheck the "Address Book Conduit." You can leave this checked if you use this fuction.

    • Uncheck the "ToDo List Conduit." You can leave this checked if you use this function.

    Click on the Next Button.

  4. The installer will ask about a “Destination Location;” use the default location. Click on the Next Button.

  5. The installer will proceed with the installation.

  6. The installer will ask to "Restart Hotsync;" click on the Yes Button.

  7. The installer will report “Installshield Wizard Complete.” Uncheck “Yes, view readme,” and click on the Finish Button.

Configure Conduit

  1. Open up the Hotsync Manager (red/blue circling arrows icon in the status bar by the clock)

  2. Verify the settings on meetingmaker datebook conduit:

    • Login Name (Meeting Maker username)

    • Password (Meeting Maker password)

    • Server [UAF]

    • Protocol (SSL)

  3. Verify the Timezone is correct

  4. DateBook Settings (Synchronize). Synch range is typically events 30 days old, and all future events.

Notes

The full client may be required to point the conduit to the correct hostname.

In cases of upgrading from a previously working setup, the conduit keeps the old settings, so no configuration is required.
