The Office of Information Technology (OIT) Support Center's skilled
staff are highly trained and comitted to provide technical support for
current and emerging technologies as well as comprehensive IT training
for University of Alaska staff, faculty and students.
Anderson, Britton
Support Center Analyst
Britton joined the OIT Support Center in May of 2008. Prior to his arrival, he was a student employee with OIT Network Operations, and a Desktop Technician for a photography studio in Soldotna, Alaska. Britton is currently enrolled in an Associates degree program as an Information Technology Specialist. Britton enjoys performing music, which at one point was his degree focus. Britton also enjoys football, hockey, video games, and anything that can be taken apart.

Coon, Kenneth
Support Center Lead Analyst
Kenny joined the Support Center team during the summer of 2001. Prior to this he worked for the Department of Defense has a workgroup/systems administrator. Kenny holds certifications from HDI and recently became ITIL Practitioner certified. He also has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Wayland Baptist University.

English, Carole
Support Center Analyst
Carole English joined the University in 1990 as a Computer Operator in Data Center Operations. Prior to joining the OIT Support Center earlier this year, she worked as a Technical Specialist for the Systems Services department. As of November 6, 2008, Carole passed the ITIL Foundations Certification Exam. Her hobbies include sailing, fly fishing and spending time with family and friends.

Gronewold, Kyle
OIT Support Center Analyst
Kyle Gronewold joined the OIT Support Center (formerly the SW and UAF Help Desks) as a student in January 2002, and has been a full time employee since July 2007. He has an Associates Degree from UAF. A+, Net+, HDI CSS, HDI HDA, and MCDST certifications. His hobbies include automobiles, snowmobiling, and music.

McGrady, Larry
Support Center Lead Technician
Since joining the HAT team in summer 2001, Larry has earned an associates degree in MSSP. He is constantly learning more about the various Software Programs and Operating Systems that the University Community” uses to better assist them. Larry enjoys the daily interaction with University employees from around the state.

Michie, Josh
Support Center Analyst
Josh started working for the Support Center in August of 2007. He is currently working towards his degree in Petroleum Engineering.

Miller, Martin
Sr. IT Trainer
Martin is a Langevin Learning Systems certified Instructor and Facilitator. He has over 22 years experience as a trainer, and Communications Computer Specialist. As a Storyteller and a Member of Toastmasters International he enjoys presenting information on a wide variety of subjects.

Taylor, Alex
Support Center Analyst
Alex Taylor joined the OIT Support Center (formerly the SW and UAF Help Desks) in October, 2004. He is currently working on an Information Technology Specialist Associates Degree. In September, 2005, Alex passed his Help Desk Analyst (HDA) certification exam. As of January, 16, 2006, Alex is also Customer Support Specialist (CSS) certified. As of November 19, 2008, Alex passed the ITIL Foundations Certification Exam.
Out of the office, Alex enjoys hanging out with friends, playing paintball, baseball and video games with his friends. Additionally, he is an involved member United Campus Ministry, serving on Leadership and the Board.

Telling, Shannon
Support Center Analyst
Shannon has been with UAF since the Fall of 1999, starting as a student and eventually becoming a staff member. He has been with the OIT Support Center as a full time employee since 2003. In April 2007 Shannon obtained his Support Center Team Lead certification from HDI. He is also ITIL Foundations V3 certified. His hobbies include technology, traveling, camping, fishing, and sports of all kinds.
