Helpful Resources
List Membership We've created a Turnitin listserv where faculty can share experiences while we evaluate the service. If you are not yet a Turnitin listserv subscriber, but would like to join the conversation, please click here to subscribe. Quick Submit If you want to jump into checking student papers for originality, you can bypass the process of creating classes, enrolling students, and setting up assignments by using the "Quick Submit" option. To enable this feature, first log into your newly created instructor account. Then, follow these steps: - From among the red buttons along the top of your screen, click the "user info" button.
- You should now find yourself on the "user information/preferences" screen, which contains two columns: "personal information" and "user preferences".
- Under the "user preferences" column, locate the third field from the top, titled "activate quick submit". The default setting is "no", so change the setting to "yes".
- To save your preferences, click the "submit" button at the top of the column.
- You should see three gray buttons that read "join account", "join class (TA)", and, now that you've activated it, "quick submit". Click "quick submit".
- To submit a student paper for a Turnitin originality report, click the "submit" button, about halfway down the page on the right side.
- Customize your search options, and click "submit".
- Select an option from "Submit a paper by", follow the steps, and click "submit". In a few moments, Turnitin will generate an originality report on the submitted document.
- Once the originality report is completed, you will see a color-coded box and percentage in the "report" column. Click on the color-code/percent to view the full originality report. If the report area shows a gray box without a number, the report is still processing; refresh your screen to check if the report has been generated. The report will show you what portions of the student's work match existing sources (based on your selected search criteria in step 7 above).
You can also upload several papers at once using either the "bulk upload" or "zip file" options in step 8 above. |
