If you’re an instructor who uses Blackboard to teach successive sections of the same course, you may find it useful to move your course materials—syllabus, assignments, settings, and gradebook entries—from one class section to another. This user guide contains step-by-step instructions on how to copy materials from a previous course into your new course shell. 1. Log into Blackboard, and click on the course that contains the materials you would like to copy into the new course. 2. Once inside the course, click on the Control Panel link.
3. Locate the “Course Options” area, and click on the “Course Copy” link.
4. Click on the “Copy Course Materials into an Existing Course” link.
5. Click the “Browse” button. (If your browser employs a pop-up blocker, set your options to allow pop-ups for the current session.)
6. The suggested method to locate your new course is to select “Instructor” from the among the radio buttons, and enter your Blackboard username. 7. Click the “Search” button.
8. Locate the empty course shell from among the list of search results, and click the “Select” button along the right-hand side of the window.
9. Select the course materials you would like to copy into the new course.
10. If you select “Copy Enrollments,” Blackboard will copy your class roster from the old course into the new course. Unless you intend to populate your new course with a previous semester’s students, leave this option unselected.
11. Click the “Submit” button.
12. Blackboard will present you with a confirmation screen.
13. When the course-copy process has completed, you will receive an email in your Blackboard-recognized inbox.
