Project: Identity Finder
What is it?
Identity Finder is an application that will help protect both you and the University by identifying if you have Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data saved on your workstation. It also provides Tools for protecting that data if you do, such as Shred (secure delete) and Scrub (redact).
How does it work?
Identity Finder scans your files and looks for possible matches to PII data, such as Social Security Numbers and Credit Card Numbers. It also discovers passwords saved in clear text.
How do I get Identity Finder
If you use a Windows computer and are on the UA Domain, it will be installed for you during an upcoming deployment. If you use a Mac computer and it is managed through Casper, you can install it via Casper. If your computer is not on the UA Domain or managed through Casper, please contact the OIT Support Center to have it installed.
How do I run a scan and review the results?
Instructions for Windows and Mac are available on AskUA.
