Updates
E-mails to UAF summer students, faculty and staff went out last week, at the rate of about 1,500/day.
Feedback so far: not a lot of Help Desk calls, 20 messages via the feedback form and 10 e-mail messages. The weather channel and UAOnline were mentioned.
UAA talking about an October rollout.
Fairbanks Daily News-Miner published an article on UAF’s rollout June 20
Membership: Cassandra and Joshua no longer work for UAF.
Communications plan review and update
Everything seems to be on track.
For more details, see the revised communications plan at http://www.alaska.edu/myua/myua-uaf/documents/CommunicationsPlan-UAF.xls. (or click here.
PSA review
Revise so focus is on students since it will only be shown on the cable channel in the residence halls.
Julie mentioned that Scott had some thoughts earlier, so we need to get his feedback. Jackie will do that and also run it by Carla Browning for her input.
Get all changes to Heather by July 5 so she can discuss with Jaime.
Group categories
New groups organization in Test today, in Prod tomorrow. Added UAA/UAF/UAS/SW in front of group categories so group approvers would know which MAU policy the group falls under. This is necessary because the out-of-the-box SCT form that is being used is not easily alterable. This is a short-term fix.
Susan feels strongly that this organization of the groups structure is contrary to the philosophy of the portal itself, i.e. that it is MyUA, not MyUAF, etc.
Focus groups will be conducted on this in the fall.
The WG felt that group requests that include users from all campuses should fall under a cross-MAU policy that hasn’t been developed yet.
Promotion of the group feature was discussed.
● Listserv owners may want to use groups to conduct their group business since the portal has features that go beyond what listservs can do. It was suggested that info on groups be provided to current listserv owners.
● Fall training was suggested on the group function as well as general use of the portal.
● It was also suggested that the following individuals be contacted: JJ Boggs, WC; Susan Miller, HR; Lynn Wrightsman, Financial Services; Mark Beck, CRCD; and Chris Lott, CDE.
