The following is a statement by SunGard SCT regarding the accessibility of their
portal product, Luminis, that powers MyUA.
SunGard SCT Statement of Luminis Accessibility
Developers of SCT Campus Pipeline
and the SCT Luminis Product Family have made concerted efforts to make our technologies
accessible to all users. Although we are confident that our product is highly
accessible, we are continuing to investigate ways in which our product can be
more user friendly to all.
To date, we have focused our accessibility compliance efforts on the WAI guidelines.(http://www.w3.org/WAI/).
In particular, we have measured our Web platform against the WAI Level One guidelines,
which provide that compliance “with this priority level will allow various
people, including those with disabilities as well as those with non-current technology,
to access information found in the Web site.”
We currently comply with each of the WAI Level One guidelines except one, which
requires that our product work when scripts and applets are turned off. Our product
currently contains one applet that enables users to access the chat feature, and
our product is Java-based.
We believe that the browser versions that we require an institution to use to
obtain full functionality of SCT Campus Pipeline and the SCT Luminis Product Family
and the latest versions of JAWS eliminate the functional constraints addressed
by this guideline.
We have investigated alternative chat applications that do not use an applet as
a means of entry, but feel that they do not provide the same level of chat application
functionality.
