The entire MOVE group recently participated in the International Congress of Arctic Social Sciences meeting which took place from August 22-26, 2008 in Nuuk, Greenland. This workshop offered an exciting opportunity for the group as a whole to share preliminary findings amongst each other and with the scholarly community in general. Above and beyond the participation of the members of MOVE, this day long workshop also offered the input from researchers outside of the project who are interested in state-induced relocations. Overall, this event prompted a new round of in-depth discussion on issues surrounding relocations, and the MOVE group is beginning to find striking similarities between northern relocations in diverse field sites across national boundaries.
