About Jeff Deyette:

As the Energy Analyst for the Union of Concerned Scientists’ Clean Energy program, Jeff conducts analysis on the economic and environmental costs and benefits of renewable energy and energy efficiency policies. Jeff has co-authored several recent reports for UCS including, The Washington Clean Energy Initiative: Effects of I-937 on Consumers, Jobs and the Economy, Increasing the Texas Renewable Energy Standard: Economic and Employment Benefits, The Colorado Renewable Energy Standard Ballot Initiative:


Impacts on Jobs and the Economy, Renewing Where We Live, and Renewing America's Economy. Each of these reports employed economic models to examine the consumer, employment, and environmental benefits of increasing our use of renewable energy. Jeff has also written several articles for various renewable energy industry publications.

Prior to coming to UCS in 1999, Jeff worked as an Environmental Protection Specialist for the New England Division of the United States Army Corps of Engineers from 1996 to 1998, where he assisted with environmental compliance and conservation programs. In the summers of 1993 and 1994 he worked as a Park Ranger for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.

Jeff has a Masters Degree from Boston University in Energy Resource and Environmental Management & International Relations, and a Bachelors Degree from St. Lawrence University in Environmental Science and Government.
