Research Overview
My research has specialized on stickleback biology since 1992. I have used stickleback to study problems in ecotoxicology of perchlorate since 2002, including effects on development and reproduction using histological, genetic and hormonal tools. Since 2008 I have worked with ACAT on the ecotoxicology of formerly used defense sites in Norton Sound and St. Lawrence Island, using stickleback fish. I edited a book that includes selected stickleback articles from 1948-2008; this book includes a section on physiology and behavior with my commentary on the use of the stickleback model in ecotoxicology
