Ann works directly with MAUs on non resident alien compliance, payments, tax issues, and reporting. She is responsible for calculating and making federal tax payments to the IRS, as well as completing required IRS reporting. Ann reconciles staff benefit accounts and works with the MAUs to resolve discrepancies. She researches tax issues related to payroll and benefits accounting for implementation of proper procedures to deal with situations in accordance with Federal, State, and Local statutes.

Suzanne is responsible for balancing payroll from all campuses and remote locations. She reconciles and submits check requests for the miscellaneous payroll vendors and the four main pension vendors. Suzanne works closely with the MAUs regarding child support, IRS tax levies, and court garnishment issues. She informs the MAUs of problems/returns relating to direct deposit and payroll checks. She also submits reports to the State of Alaska for geographic and new hire compliance.

Michelle acts as the liaison to the Director of Payroll and Benefit Accounting to assist with the HR payroll and benefit accounting functions, tax compliance on behalf of the UA system, compliance of established UA regulations and policies, and compliance of federal and state laws. She also chairs the Payroll and Nonresident Alien work teams.
