APPEAL PROCEDURE

Staff and/or management may appeal the allocation of a position to the job family and/or level.

Appeal Panel

Size: A three-person panel appointed by Statewide Human Resources.
Composition: One representative each from human resources, management and staff.
Expertise: At least one member of the panel shall be a subject matter expert.

Notice to Employees

- Employees and management will be notified in writing of the job family allocation.
- The notice will include information about the appeal process.

Appeal Deadline/Content

- Appeals must be in writing and received by Statewide Human Resources within 30 calendar days of the effective date of the implementation.
- Appeal letter should state the allocation change sought. Appellant may submit additional information or documentation to support the appeal review.

Process

SWOHR: Will review the appeal and may ask the appellant to provide additional information and/or documentation.
SWOHR: Will schedule the appeal panel review, including an opportunity for the appellant to meet with the panel.
APPEAL PANEL: Will review the appeal request and any additional information provided, and notify SWOHR of the outcome. The panel may request additional information as needed.
SWOHR: Will provide written notification of the outcome to appellant and HR Office.
