Melodee Monson

President, UAA APT Council (2011-2012) Member, Staff Alliance

I work in the Human Services Department (academic) as the Business Manager. I have been with UAA for almost 23 years and with the Human Services Department for the last 8 years. I have served on the UAA Classified Council for about 10 years, four of which I served as Vice President. I was appointed to UAA APT Council during the 2010/11 year and elected to serve as President for the 2011/12 year. My interest in serving on the APT Council stems from a desire to serve my colleagues/constituents by providing an avenue for their concerns to be brought forward to our governance voice, and as a source of information, sharing discussions and information from the Council with those whom I work. I also enjoy advocating for the University and staff at the legislative level.

Gwenna Richardson

Vice President, UAS Staff Council (2009-2012) Member, Staff Alliance

I have been in Alaska since 1996 via the Army. I have since married, retired from the military, and starting working for the Ketchikan campus as the Human Resource Technician during 2000-01 (it was a busy year). I completed my Bachelor's in Liberal Arts majoring in Administration Management and Accounting from Excelsior College, Albany, NY in July 2005 taking most of my required classes from UAS. I served as the Ketchikan Member-At-Large from 2006-2008 and enjoyed every minute of it so much that I decided to run for the UAS Vice President of Staff Council! I am looking forward to working with everyone and I am glad to be part of a group that is there to assist others.
