Initiated by Rich Seifert, the energy and housing specialist at the UAF Cooperative Extension Service, who donated the $10,000 award money from his 2009 Emil Usibelli Distinguished Teaching, Research and Service Award to this fund to rehab the historic building on campus in an energy-efficient way.
