In lieu of applying for scholarship on UAOnline, you may apply by directly emailing your name, student ID, campus you plan to attend, the name of the scholarship(s) you are applying for, and a personal essay to Dory Straight at dory.straight@alaska.edu.

University of Alaska Foundation scholarships are available to students attending any campus of the University of Alaska (Anchorage, Fairbanks, Southeast and all community campuses). Since most scholarships are awarded early in the spring of each academic year, applications must be received by February 15, 2012, to be considered for most Fall 2012—Spring 2013 scholarships. Any applications received through July 15, 2012, will be used for any late awarded scholarships or any new scholarship that may open up. Any applications received after the July date will be disqualified.

APPLYING FOR SCHOLARSHIPS
Please review these instructions

• Step 1: Apply for admission to the UA Campus you wish to attend by February 15, 2012. The admission application can be completed online.
• Step 2: Go to UAOnline and complete the required online scholarship application. Once logged in, choose Scholarships under the Student Services menu. The UAOnline portion of the scholarship application, including the personal profile, is required: you will not be considered for scholarships if this is not completed.
• Step 3: Click on the UA in the scholarship application, or return to this page, and complete the supplemental application if you wish to apply for these specific scholarships.
• Step 4: To receive full consideration for need-based scholarships for the 2012-2013 academic year, you must submit a completed Free Application for Federal Financial Aid (FAFSA) by February 15, 2012. If you or your parents have not completed your 2011 income tax returns by this date, please complete the form using estimated income information and then correct the information as needed once your taxes are completed.
• Step 5: Accept your financial aid on UAOnline.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Submitting an incomplete application or failing to adhere to the requirements will result in disqualification. You will not be considered for scholarships unless you are admitted or have applied for admissions to a degree program. All selection criteria not required for scholarships will be obtained from your UA student record (e.g. degree program, academic major, class standing, etc.). You must be sure your UA student record is as complete and accurate as possible. Scholarship selection committees may contact you to request additional information.
