WELCOME to the world of Distance Education at the University of Alaska!
The Education Technology Team (ETT) is a system-wide organization dedicated to ensuring our professional and academic capabilities, along with technology, are used to enhance and grow the student learning experience at the University of Alaska — the University at its best.
The journey continues…since January 2007. Accomplishments can be seen on several projects.
Through a Request for Proposal (RFP) process, four faculty-led projects have been supported by the ETT for 2007-08. These projects will promote enriched learning experiences for UA distance education students.
Professional development opportunities for faculty interested in and engaged in distance education increased with ETT providing travel funds for approximately 30 faculty members across the system to attend and/or present at the 2008 Alaska Society for Technology in Education conference. In addition, iTeach workshops have been increased to better accommodate the demand for training.
Taking a student-centric approach, efforts are ongoing to improve a student's ability to search for and register for distance education courses using existing technology/programs such as the Distance Gateway, UAOnline and MyUA.
Work continues to devise better methods to accurately capture pertinent data related to distance education, i.e. enrollments, student credit hours, costs, etc.
