The University of Alaska Fairbanks is home to two literary journals.
Permafrost is an internationally recognized journal publishing poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and photography. Having celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2008, Permafrost continues to publish notable writers and artists alongside the up and coming. The journal's staff is comprised of 20 to 30 volunteers from the MFA in Creative Writing program. To read a review of Spring 2008 issue, click here.
Ice Box publishes original poetry, prose and art by UAF students. Established in 1999, Ice Box offers a variety of opportunities for undergraduate English majors interested in gaining practical experience in the publishing industry.
Sigma Tau Delta and English Graduate Organization (EGO) are student organizations affiliated with the English Department.
