Episode 7: Telemedicine
Ear infections aren't serious, at least if you live in one of Alaska's larger communities. Unfortunately, for many rural Alaskans an infected ear can lead to devastating illnesses. Now, thanks to a new telemedicine network, even remote villagers are receiving professional medical aid. But as Alaska medical veteran Tom Nighswander explains any telemedicine system depends on a well-trained staff.
Studio panelists include:
- Paul Sherry, CEO, Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium
- John Kokesh, M.D., Alaska Native Medical Center
- Ron Adler, CEO, Alaska Psychiatric Institute
