As the wave of baby-boomers rolls toward senior status, questions about health care are gaining priority in politics. Drug costs, managed care, and universal coverage are being hotly debated. But one issue has largely escaped national attention--the growing shortage of health care professionals. As KUAC's Robert Hannon reports, Alaska is no exception, but at least one rural community is planning ahead.
