  • How the job fair works

You will visit district information booths to submit your Application Packet , speak to administrators who have positions available in your endorsement area(s), and attend informational presentations. District administrators will review your packet and evaluate your qualifications for an in-depth interview. Communication between you and the districts will occur primarily through your job fair “mailbox.” Alaska Teacher Placement staff will have your mailbox ready at the fair. You will schedule interviews directly with district personnel using your official interview form.

  • Hiring at the job fair

Hiring takes place at the job fair and after, so keep a positive attitude in your pursuit. Before signing a contract do your research. Be prepared to ask districts about housing, transportation, culture, and opportunities for professional growth. The Alaska Teacher Placement staff are there to assist you in your employment efforts.

Because Alaska Teacher Placement does not select who will be interviewed, we cannot guarantee that you will receive an interview during the job fair or guarantee employment.
