Partnership

The partnership between UA and DOT&PF began in the '90s, when the university provided supervisory training to DOT&PF employees in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau. "Our relationship built from there," says Bruce Rowe, contract manager with UA Statewide Corporate Programs (UACP).

UA continues to assist DOT&PF with training needs, providing logistical support, which includes keeping records, coordinating training locations, and setting up audio-visual equipment.

UA has also worked with DOT&PF to convert a classroom-based materials testing training course to an online format - an effort that saves time and money for DOT&PF. The project drew upon resources throughout the university, including the University of Alaska Anchorage School of Engineering and eMedia services.
