Dr. Russell O’Hare serves as the Chief Records Officer for the University of Alaska. He is responsible for the university records information compliance program, approves university retention and disposition schedules, and is the university Red Flag program administrator. He oversees the statewide records center, micrographics, and enterprise content management offices. Prior to accepting the position as Chief Records Officer in 2007, Dr. O’Hare was a Project Manager in the Office of the Controller and the Policy Analyst for the Budget and Institutional Research Office . He is a retired Army officer who served as a military Comptroller, Professor of Military Science, and as a Field Artillery Officer. He has a Doctorate in Education , a Masters in Business Administration, degrees in Management and Finance plus certificates in Records Management and Office Practices. He has completed the requirements and testing to be designated as a Certified Records Manager (CRM). Only four people in Alaska have earned the CRM designation.
