Linda Lazzell was appointed as the UAA Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs in March 2005. Student Affairs departments, programs, and affiliated organizations include Enrollment Services, Student Financial Aid, Native Student Services, AHAINA Student Programs, Advising and Testing Center, New Student Orientation, College Survival Skills Courses, TRIO Federal Programs--Upward Bound, Educational Talent Search, Educational Opportunity Center, Student Support Services, Student Health and Counseling Center, Residence Life, Student Leadership Development, Disability Support Services, Career Services Center, Alcohol and Other Drug Education, Judicial Affairs, Student Activities, Campus Life, Student Union, Student Media--KRUA FM and the Northern Light student newspaper, USUAA Student Government, Club Council and Student Clubs, Greek Council and Fraternity and Sororities. Other positions Linda has held at UAA include: dean of students, 1993 until 2005; assistant to the dean of students, 1992 to 1993; student programs coordinator, 1985 to 1992; Campus Center information desk manager, 1981 to 1985. Linda serves as co-chair of the UAA Strategic Enrollment Management Committee and chair of the UAA Diversity Action Council. Linda earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Utah in 1979 and a master's degree in counseling psychology from the University of La Verne in 1995. She is currently completing a doctorate in counseling psychology from the Argosy University-Sarasota. Linda is a licensed professional counselor and a board-approved counseling supervisor in the State of Alaska.
