Fred Villa joined the University of Alaska Statewide in 2006 and reports to the Vice President for Academics Affairs.  He joined the University of Alaska after over 19 years in the oil & gas industry, including developing entry level, technical and administrative training programs.  Villa was a founding member of the Alaska Process Industries Careers Consortium, an organization of industry, government, and educational partners that developed the highly successful Process Technology program. The Office of Workforce Programs has oversight of the University of Alaska Statewide Corporate Programs, and K-12 Outreach.  He is currently representing the President of the University of Alaska on the Alaska Workforce Investment Board and serving on the Workforce Readiness and Employment Placement, and Policy and Planning Committees.

Villa received an undergraduate degree in Recreational Therapy from the University of South Dakota. Villa and his wife Connie have eight children and are active in 4-H, youth sports, and church activities.
