Beth Behner is the Chief Human Resources Officer for the University of Alaska.  With over 20 years of experience in human resources, she joined UA's Statewide HR staff in 2001 as a Senior Labor Relations Coordinator.  Beth served as the director of UA's Labor and Employee Relations office from 2002 to 2006 and acted as chief spokesperson for the University's bargaining teams during that time.  Beth was appointed as the University's Chief HR Officer in March, 2006.  In her role as CHRO, Beth works on employment related policy and regulations and oversees Statewide HR units including Labor and Employee Relations, Compensation and Classification, HR Operations, Training and Development and Benefits.  She chairs UA's systemwide HR Council, and participates as a member of the Joint Health Care Committee, the Collective Bargaining Advisory Committee and the Business Council.  Beth received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Anthropology and has a law degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.  She is a member of the Alaska Bar Association and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources.
